specialty bakery and food artistry business in Parma. She made some fabulous goodies for the show, including pecan brownie cupcakes, gluten-free mocha crinkles, which were adapted from a 1901 cookie recipe, and chocolate buttercream truffle tarts. To go with the treats, she also made toasted almond hot chocolate with optional shots of amaretto. Decadent and delicious! To order some of Evelyna's vintage-inspired baked goods, call her from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at 440.884.2165. Barbara Williams is the career education apprenticeship coordinator for Akron Public Schools. Her husband, Scott Williams, is assistant professor and coordinator for the environmental health and safety program for Stark State College. Both were on the radio to talk about two fascinating exhibits that will be part of the Eco Village area of the Akron Home & Flower Show. The exhibits will be a startling demonstration of how much negative impact consumers can have on the environment. The Akron Public Schools' exhibit will consist of about 1,200 plastic water bottles -- the average number of plastic water bottles thrown away every 14 seconds in Ohio. Stark State College will have a wall of 15,000 bottle caps, one for each student on the campus.
